Toward The Rainbow Is The 15Th Work In A Series Of 23 Gouaches On Paper That He Produced Over 21 Months From January 1940 To September 1941. The Entire Sheet Is Covered With Hourglass Shapes And A Multitude Of Forms Suggesting Stars, Eyes, Circles, Triangles, And Crescents. Linked By Thin Black Lines, The Composition Can Be Seen To Evoke A Constellation In The Cosmos.
